Just go along to their benefits office,I’m sure you will be given the sufficient zloty to keep you going plus free housing etc.etc as we do in England.!!!!!!!
The currency in Poland is the Zloty, although many places will accept Euros, and US dollars. Credit cards are widely accepted in almost all shops, restaurants and hotels, although you should check before making payment.
Tipping is not viewed as compulsory in Poland, although many people round up the bill if the service is very good.
Tax is included in all purchases at 22%, and now that Poland is a member of the EU, you cannot claim this money back when you leave the country.
The cost of living in Poland is relatively low, with a beer costing around 50p, and a meal available from around £2 depending on the restaurant. Imported goods such as camera film and designer goods are slightly cheaper than in the UK.
The currency in Poland (Krakow) is the zloty, which means ‘golden’ and is abbreviated to zl, with the code PLN used at currency exchanges. It is divided into 100 units called groszy in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50gr coins. There are also zl 1, 2 and 5 coins. The bank notes are in denominations of z1 10, 20, 50, 10 and 200.

The currency used is Polish “zloty”.
However, Euro, US $ and pound sterling will be exchanged in every currency exchange (Pol. “Kantor wymiany walut” or simply “kantor”) office, most banks, and many post offices.
Credit cards are widely accepted.
You should be able to get Zloty in any UK high street bank. Many will buy back unspent currency when you return for no extra fee.
The easiest thing is to get some Zloty before you go - the exchange rates in the airports are rarely good.
get an account with nationwide. they allow you to draw out money from cash machines all over the world with no charge. i got one before i went around europe in summer i wasnt able to get a visa one (which would allow me to pay on my card) i got one you could only use at cash points. i went to denmark- germany-poland-hungary-austria-italy-switzerland-france-belgium and the netherlands and never had a problem with it anywhere.
the answer to your question by the way is Polish Zloty. PLN which which one PLN is currently worth about 20p.
word of advice you dont buy your bus tickets on the bus you buy them from kiosks. we got on the bus in warsaw and tried to buy tickets but we got special taxed which we paid after arguing and mentions of ‘policie’ (£80). but if you get caught doin this apparently according to our hostel tell them you have no money or ID then they will write you an invoice you dont have to pay because they have no way of tracking you!
Krakow is fantastic if you get chance take the train to oswiem and go see auchwitz(takes about 2hours to get there by train) dont let a ‘tour guide’ sway you in at the station unless they are official chances are if theyre asking you if you want taking they are not.
