Cracow was ethinicall predominanly Polish and Catholis. There was a Jewish minority.
Southern Poland was under Austrian rule.
It’s great to hear that you want to get you’re personal history better! Cracow had Jewish part of the town called Kazimierz - this minority was killed by Hitler during World War II. In Cracow there were many Catholics that time. It was also the great artistic time full of amazing writers and painters like Wyspiański.
