Zloty
You can check the exchange rate on the link below:
You dont need euro, british pound is ok, but dont take scottish pounds, its difficult to exchange them in poland.
and dont exchange at british airports your full money, you can get much better exchange in poland
example ? last july , prestwick airport Glasgow 1pound=4.3 zloty + 3.5 exchange fee
Krakow, the same day 1 pound =5.4 ,without any exchange fee
u can take both
The currency in Poland is zloty nevertheless you can easily change pounds, euro and dollars here in Poland. As someone has previously pointed out, if you’re coming from U.K., make sure you don’t have any Scotish pounds on you because they are really hard to exchange and if you do finally find some place that will exchange them you will get less money for them as you would for the British pounds. Good luck and enjoy your trip to Krakow which I’m sure you will as Krakow is the best city of Poland
euro, american dollers, and pounds
Depends where you come from!
If you come from outside the EU then changing your currency will be a bit of a problem in the local kantor’s where you will obtain the best exchange rate. If you have GB pounds US dollars or Euros, then you will have no problem exchanging them, but DO NOT change the currency in your own country as you will get a very bad rate of exchange.
Another way if you are not too bothered about losing 2 pence on the pound or 10 cents on the dollar then just use your ATM card (cash machine card) to draw the money out of the many banks around, this is by far the easiest way.
Poland will not adopt the Euro until maybe 2010/12 so you will be unable to spend it anywhere in Poland.
If you would like to know more about Poland and where to go and what it is really like, then there is a forum where English speaking people from Poland and overseas discuss all matter of things and if you ask you will find many friendly people who will answer all your questions, so go and visit
I have to agree with ukpolska on this one as I found using my ATM card was easier than exchanging money.
