I went to Krakow last year, we booked the salt mines and Autzchwitz from the hotel. It wasn’t far to the salt mines from the centre, was only on the bus about 10 minutes, think we only paid around £20-£30 for admission and the bus there and back.
All the taxi drivers should know where it is, it’s very popular, probably only second to Autzchwitz.
It’s interesting to see, recommended. I’d definitely recommend seeing Autzchwitz while you are there as well, its not expensive and it really opens your eyes.
I was there in 1996, but our tour was organized by the Army.
Regardless, the salt mines are about one hour from Krakow. I didn’t hang out near the central station much, I stayed near the main square.
Lots of crooks in both locations looking to fleece tourist, be careful and try and find a reputable guide…
