i think that is sooo sweet of you.
do lots of crafts and that sort of stuff.
The more hands on you can get the better off you will be. The problem is, English is not a field that lends itself easily to hands-on projects. The Internet has lots of sites that will be beneficial to you. Just do some exploring.
Good for you! You’ve got the right attitude. Making it fun and making it low pressure is the best way to go - little kids learn their native language by absorption, and young children learn a second language the same way. Take over some nursery rhymes and game songs — This Old Man and that sort of thing - because singing is an easy way to learn a language without an accent!
Puppet shows are fun too, because you can have one very dumb puppet who never gets things right the first time and has to have stuff repeated over and over before he gets it. That gives kids a chance to pick up what he’s saying and even the slower learners have a chance to hear it repeated and repeated, without anyone ‘talking down’ to them.
Let the kids make up their own puppet shows as well, to show off what they’ve learned. Sock puppets are cheap and easy to make.
You might also want to check with your local school board and see if they have any primary readers that are due for discard, that you could take with you.
