because poland beat england in the world cup
England had a treaty with Poland that Hitler always believed the British would ignore rather then start war. He was wrong.
because the allies had to draw a line somewhere, and after Hitler invaded czech rep they said ok next invasion we take action. Check out the whole issue of appeasement during the build up to 2nd world war….it explains this.
britain signed a treaty after WW1 with most of europe, becuase they were all scared that germany would try it again. which they did, so as a country of there word us an the french declared war on the sneaky gits
I believe it was because Poland was one step closer to the uk and it wouldnt be long after that Hitler could invade us. Not sure but thats what i was lead to believe it was.
Poland had mutual defense treaties with the UK and France.
The UK and France had looked the other way when it came to all of Hitler’s transgressions. (occupation of Austria and part of Czechoslovakia, breaking the naval treaty, rearmament, etc.)
There was a point at which they had to draw a line. Poland was that line.
Winston Churchill Had a second cousin who was a barber in poland, he ran a salon and used to give Churchill 65 pence a month to look after his ailing mother in law,
The Nazis invaded poland and they numbered 21,328 troops in all, In all poland now the only barber who was spared was this cousin of Churchill, and he made hell of a lot of money shaving 21,146 odd troops, (the remaing had beards)
A lot of money was made by the cousin in question and Churchill spent a great deal of money on the upkeep of his cousin’s mother in law,
The cousin stopped paying Churchill, Chrchill demanded 6500 Pounds in those days, The money never came and that upset him.
That was the reason for invasion.
He opened his own saloon, Franchised it to the hungarian prince, Collected 652,982,000 Pounds from both his cousin and the franchise and returned.
We and Poland were good mates and if a bunch of thugs started
to realy boot your mate to death what would you do ?
Well we went and gave our pals a hand and got stuck in hence
the second word war
We told him not to, but he disobeyed us, so he had to pay the consequences.
Treaty obligatiøns provided the legal justification. Great Britain and France had both made assurances to Poland that they would come in as allies if Germany attacked.
The Germans underestimated the response of the two countries.
Austria, Czechoslavika, the Rhur all were taken by Germany with no consequences. This time it did not work out that way.
because the UK and Poland had a long standing treaty…..though it was the Russians that eventualy ‘liberated’ the country…
