You would think more people would have protested about the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty without the promised referendum. Fact is that the government is overwhelmed by the current level of beaucracy and can’t operationally manage the wide variety of issues they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Those people involved in trying to resolve these imbalances are either politicians (usually too dense, busy with election issues, too thinly spread) or civil servants (usually too dense, watching the clock, unable to make a difference and underpaid)….and just not doing a good enough job.

That said…..it’s people like you that feel strongly about it, that should try to do something about it too….otherwise nothing will change im afraid.

Thats the EU for you. Us “richer” countries have to bail out the poorer ones by providing jobs homes and benefits (even though there are British families who are struggling and could use some extra help) . . .

I have no problem with migrant workers choosing to work here for more money than they can earn in their own countries but supporting their children abroad is an insult to all of us tax payers in the UK apart from the fact that it is so easy of abuse the scheme especially if they are getting the same as UK residence and the cost of living is less in other countries (otherwise they wouldn’t travel here to work).
I think the government will have a national protest strike if it carries on ignoring public opinion. They are the main cause of racism through no fault of foreign workers who are just taking advantage of the soft touch approach attitude of our government. They must put the education and health and well being of our own citizens first. That is why our grandparents fought to give us freedom. We are a generous nation as seen when we raise money to help others and give asylum to anyone who needs it.
