i went to auschwitz last year. it was one of the most harrowing experiences of my life. my grandmother survived the autrocities and i could not stop thinking about the horrors she must have seen and the pain she must have suffered whilst i was there. the hardest part was walking through the exibition and seeing the piles and piles of hair, glasses, shoes and children’s clothes. i am glad i went because i will never forget how humble it made me feel. it is very important that people see it and understand why it we must do everything to stop these things from happeneing again. unfortunately it is hard to believe that even places like guantanimo bay exist to this day.
i think auschwitz is worth to see!belive me you will never forget this trip!i was 14 when i went there with my class! i still remmamber all those women hair behind the glass or places were they were shooting people! or gas house when they were telling people that they are just going to take a shower and i the end they were killed! if you are going there is worth to take a tourist guide!they can tell you a lot about auschwitz! the other playce worth to visit is wroclaw!! that is were i am from!!!!!
Auschwitz is a tough place to visit.
Once you get into the exhibition barracks with the shoes, luggage, and hair, it’s really hard to keep the tears in.
I went twice, first time when I was in grade school, and second time a few years ago, and the experience still lingers with me.
It is humbling and puts in perspective all problems we may have. The enormity of crimes commited there makes one realize that we all have to think twice before we decide to discriminate even in the most trivial, smallest way.
all about nazis…hard to use any words to describe the horror, but I been there 3 times ans for sure will go again
I’v been there and was pretty impressed. it was pretty weird
First, please keep in mind that Auschwitz is a WW 2 era, not after it (we Poles are quite touchy about this problem, since some people tend to attribute it to us…).
I’ve been there twice, once as a teenager (on a school trip), and once as an adult (running a trip). What can I say…
No words are fit to describe it. Depressing, utterly sad… is not giving out the true feelings.
I mean, it’s not scary because it tries to be authentic. It is authentic, and doesn’t need to attempt to be scary.
Consider it twice. Yes, it’s an experience everyone should have. But do it only if you feel you’re ready to face it. I won’t go there for the third time, given half a chance. Wouldn’t go there even the second time (just I had to).
